Experience the joy of learning a new hobby and indulge in a moment of mindful artistry under the guidance of self-taught calligrapher, Marie-Claire.  Enjoy the surroundings of the cool and cosy independent cafe Brother Hubbard (North) who will provide the perfect space, delicious refreshments. 

Discover how the simplicity of putting pen to paper and the slow, soothing movement across the page can bring a sense of calm and quiet, as you indulge in some ‘me time’, meet others and create something beautiful.

The tickets for the workshop are €75.00. Enjoy refreshments as part of the ticket price. You will also receive a personalised calligraphy kit including a pen holder, nib, ink, practice booklet and guide sheets at the workshop which you can keep to use for practice afterward. 

In this two hour workshop for beginners, you will learn: 

- How to set-up your kit and the tools you need 

- The foundations of calligraphy - basic strokes and pressure techniques

- Letter formation and an introduction to word formation 

- Marie-Claire will be there to offer a one-to-one experience throughout the workshop and give direct feedback. There will also be a follow up with additional resources and guidance on learning
